Lower Providence Rod & Gun Club

Membership Wait List

What the wait list is for

It does two things: it lets us confirm your sponsor with them directly, and it puts you into the new member onboarding process in the right order, starting with a General Membership Meeting.

Our onboarding events repeat every month and can be completed in any order, so this is not a queue you are stuck at the back of. It is the front door — everyone starts here so that we can check the sponsorship and know who to expect at each event.

You must have a sponsor before you sign up

Name a current club member who has already agreed to sponsor you. We contact them by email and they have to confirm. If you sign up without a sponsor, or with one we cannot identify or who does not confirm, you will be removed from the list.

Give one member's name, and nothing else. Put their first and last name in the sponsor box, spelled as correctly as you can — please ask them how it is spelled if you are not sure. We email that one person to confirm your sponsorship.

Please do not enter two or more names, and please do not put anything in that box other than your sponsor's name. We contact exactly one member, so an entry naming several people, or carrying a note to us instead of a name, leaves us unable to confirm your sponsorship — and an application we cannot confirm a sponsor for is rejected. We would much rather confirm you, so please take a moment to get this one right.

No sponsor yet? Come to one of our public events and meet some members: Friday night Trap, USPSA, IDPA, CMP, the monthly Archery shoot, or the monthly General Membership Meeting — all on the club calendar. You need to take the initiative to meet members and obtain a sponsor.

Join the wait list

This is the only way we contact you.
One member's name, spelled correctly — nothing else. Not two names, and not a message to us: we have to be able to identify and contact exactly one person. If we cannot, your sponsorship cannot be confirmed and your application will be rejected.

After you sign up

  1. We email your sponsor to confirm they are willing to sponsor you.
  2. If they confirm, expect an invitation before the beginning of next month.
  3. The invitation is a link to the full application, where you complete your details and pay your first year's dues.
  4. Once you have applied and paid, your first event is the General Membership Meeting. Plan to attend that one first.

Priority is given to family members of existing members and to former club members.

Do not attend new member activities until you are invited

That includes work parties, orientation and the other onboarding events — wait until you have been invited, applied and paid.

The reason is record keeping: we need to know who is attending a new member event so your attendance is recorded against you and counts towards your requirements. Turning up before you are in the system means it cannot be credited, and it causes confusion for you and for whoever is running the event.
